ABOUT TECHNICIAN

TECHNICIAN is a genre-bending music project based in Central Texas near Austin, grounded in rock and metal and expanded through electronic, cinematic, and soul-driven textures. The sound favors intention over excess, blending grit with control, rhythm with space, and emotion with precision.

Created by Navy veteran Joshua Raley, the project is shaped by lived experience, service, and the aftermath of trauma. Rather than turning inward or escapist, TECHNICIAN uses music as a working system, a way to process, stabilize, and remain present. Mental health is not a storyline or a slogan. It is a constant variable, influencing how the songs breathe, how they build, and how they resolve.

TECHNICIAN exists beyond music as well, extending into film, visual storytelling, and conceptual work through NEW RETROGRADE PRODUCTION, LLC. Across mediums, the focus remains the same: honest expression, emotional clarity, and work that respects complexity without dramatizing it.
